SURAJ KUMAR SAHU is a PhD research scholar in the Department of Civil Engineering at the
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Delhi, India. His research interests are high-strength reinforcing steel,
large-scale testing of structures, and behaviour of reinforced concrete structures under earthquake loadings.
He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Indira Gandhi

DIPTI RANJAN SAHOO is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute Technology (IIT)
Delhi, Delhi, India. His research interests include design and behaviour of reinforced concrete structures,
performance-based seismic design, large-scale testing of structures, and passive vibration control techniques.
He is a Fellow of Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Institution of Engineers (India) and Indian Society of
Earthquake Technology (ISET). He is serving as a member of working group for the revision of IS:456, Bureau
