Cement is the main constituent of concrete as binding media and the only component which is scientifically controlled. Now a days, different types of cements are increasingly used in the market asserting the enhanced strength and durability and increase in service life of structure. This research study reports experimental results of the performance of three different types of cement on the aspect of durability as well as strength. Laboratory tests like compressive strength, wet and dry, acid resistance, were conducted to access the robustness of mortar. Also, mortar cubes were tested under elevated temperature starting from 50 to 600oC to observe its fire resistance. As a whole, the Portland slag cement has performed well comparing to Portland Pozzolana cement and Ordinary Portland cement.
