The cover-page image is from the Bridge Street Bridge at Southfield in Michigan, USA, which uses carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) material. The Bridge Street Bridge design, construction, and instrumentation was based on multiple research projects funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The Bridge Street Bridge has been monitored continuously since its construction and the monitoring has been authorized to continue to 2025. Furthermore, prior to construction and after the design, a full-scale beam was fabricated and tested up to failure.
